About Catania Airport
Catania airport, located in Fontanarossa and dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini, is the first Sicilian airport by number of passengers, and the sixth in Italy: in 2024 there were as many as 12,346,530 passengers, a figure slightly lower than that of Naples airport. Therefore, Catania airport is one of the two main gateways to Sicily, and the Catania-Rome route is one of the busiest not only nationally but also in Europe.
The Catania airport is served by numerous airlines, especially easyJet but also Volotea, Alitalia, Ryanair, Blue Air, Wizz Air, and many others, which under normal conditions connect Sicily not only with 22 Italian cities but also with 33 foreign countries, for a total of 95 direct flights.
